Which players would make the Premier League XI, based on form this season? We've checked the Sky Sports Power Rankings to find out…

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player's performance by awarding points for 32 different stats. We used the season accumulative chart to determine which players should make the XI.

GOALKEEPER

CENTRE-BACKS

Manchester City centre-back Nicolas Otamendi secures his place with a league-high 857 successful passes this season, in addition to making 20 tackles and scoring two goals.

Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso pips Arsenal's Nacho Monreal to the left-back spot by just 28 points - despite Monreal being favoured over Alonso for the Spain national side.

The 26-year-old has also chipped in with two goals this term and topped the Power Rankings in-form chart for one week in late August.

We've shoehorned Alonso's Chelsea team-mate Cesar Azpilicueta into the right-back position, being the top-ranked defender in the Power Rankings at No 10 - having notched a remarkable five assists.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD

Manchester City have dominated the Premier League so far this season and they dominate the Power Rankings XI midfield, claiming three out of four positions.

Kevin De Bruyne is the first name on the team-sheet, currently sitting top of the Power Rankings season chart, and starts alongside holding midfielder Fernandinho.

Together, the pair have scored four goals in the Premier League this term - three from outside the box - made eight assists and created 22 chances.

WINGERS

Leroy Sane currently sits at No 3 in the Power Rankings season chart, and the Germany international is the fourth and final City player to make the XI, occupying the left flank with six goals and five assists.
Unsurprisingly, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah claims a starting place on the right after an electrifying start to his career at Anfield, sitting at No 5 in the season chart from seven goals and two assists.

STRIKERS

Lukaku topped the chart for several weeks after a clinical start to his United career, but a recent dip in form has seen Kane overtake the Belgian.
