The shocking revelation
was made known, yesterday, in a press conference by PDP members in
Igboeze South local government area of Enugu state.

The PDP  stalwarts made up of the immediate past state  chairman of the
party, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, a member of the state House of Assembly, Hon.
Mathew Ugwueze, among others, were reacting to the claim by the 2015
APC governorship aspirant in the state, Chief Okey Ezea, that the PDP
members brutalized him on the election day.

The PDP members wondered how they could have brutalized Ezea when he,
Ezea of APC,   was among those that nominated the PDP chairmanship
candidate  and the PDP councillorship candidate for his Itchi Uwani ward
 1.

Describing Ezea’s allegation as unfortunate and self-inflicted injury,
leader of the Igboeze South, PDP caucus and member representing the
council in the State House of Assembly, Hon . Mathew Ugwueze said “There
was no need for any  scuffle with Mr. Ezea especially against the
background that as ‘PDP associate’, he  along with other PDP
stakeholders in the area nominated the current chairman-elect of Igboeze
South and the PDP councillorship-elect of his Itchi Uwani ward 1,
respectively.”

The PDP group therefore vehemently refuted  Ezea’s allegation and
described it as “another hoax from a pro-propaganda party, APC.”

They also went ahead to cite what they alleged as Ezea’s antics of
mayhem  in the local government during elections, noting that Ezea was
yet to report his alleged ordeal to any police, two weeks after.

But Ezea in his reaction said it was not possible he nominated the PDP
candidates, adding that even though the chairman-elect was his friend ,
he did not have a hand in his nomination as a PDP candidate.

Eze also denied involvement in previous  mayhems at elections in the
area and wondered if that was the reason the PDP members brutalized him
on the election day.

He also said he promptly reported the matter to the Commissioner of
Police in Enugu state as well as at the Area command, noting that the
litany of allegations against him by the PDP members was another way
admitting guilty of the offense.
