Patrice Evra Banned From UEFA Club Competitions Until 2018

Patrice Evra has been banned from all Uefa club matches until June 2018 after kicking a fan in the head.

Patrice Evra clashed with supporters before the Europa League fixture with Vitoria de Guimaraes, and aimed an acrobatic attack at one supporter

Evra was subjected to jeers from the away end in Portugal for about half an hour before the altercation, witnesses said.

The former Manchester United defender who was due to be on the substitutes bench for the game, was shown a red card by the referee despite the game not having even started.
He was fined 10,000 euros (£8,829).

It means he misses Marseille’s two remaining Europa League group matches and the knock-out phase if they progress that far.

Patrice Evra is also currently suspended by his club, although is expected to shortly return to the fray in domestic competition.
