Report: Chelsea Want Luis Campos To Replace Michael Emenalo As Technical Director

Chelsea have approached Luis Campos – regarded as one of European football’s most accomplished talent scouts – to replace Michael Emenalo as their technical director, report The Times.

Luis Campos worked as a scout at Real Madrid during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge before taking on technical director roles at Monaco and Lille in Ligue 1.

Emenalo left his post at Stamford Bridge earlier this month after six years in the job.

Campos played a huge role in identifying and recruiting a host of young talent to the French giants.

His captures of Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar, Anthony Martial, Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Fabinho helped Monaco to overthrown Paris Saint-Germain to capture the Ligue 1 title last season.

And they have also earned the club a huge profit in the transfer market after several of the starlets were sold.

Campos left the Principality last year to join up with fellow French top-flight outfit Lille, he is open to leaving and joining the Premier League champions.
