Ryan Giggs Signs Two Year Deal As Youth Director Of Vietnamese Academy

Ryan Giggs has signed a two-year contract to become director of football at a Vietnamese football academy.

The Manchester United legend will begin his new position at the Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents FC (PVF) on November 20.

Ryan Giggs has previously been linked with a number of coaching jobs since his spell as United’s interim boss in 2014, and recently expressed interest in managing Leicester and Everton.

Giggs’ former team-mate Paul Scholes is also being linked with a role at the academy.

The pair will be welcomed at the opening ceremony of PVF’s new training centre later this month.
Ryan Giggs will begin in his new role on November 20, while former teammate Scholes is reportedly set to join as technical advisor.

Giggs has agreed to a role that will see him “responsible for coaching players, training coaches and participating in building and developing PVF to become the leading youth football training centre in Vietnam, in line with the famous football academies across the world,” the PVF website declared.

PVF’s senior side play in the second tier of Vietnam’s V League, and are based in Ho Chi Minh City – formerly known as Saigon.
