EDO State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has charged Youth Corps members serving in the state to rise up against human trafficking as his government is currently tackling the social menace. Obaseki He gave the charge, yesterday, at Okada in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the State during the swearing-in ceremony of 2017 Batch “B” Stream I Orientation Course, at the NYSC Orientation Camp in the town.

He said: “As good ambassadors of the scheme, I also expect you to be involved in the fight against economic crimes, women and child trafficking, drug trafficking and other vices.” The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Special Duty, Mr. Mika Amanokha, said the present administration was delighted in identifying with the scheme in the state sequel to its numerous contributions, adding that the government would continue to support the scheme in achieving its laudable objectives.

 The state Coordinator of the scheme, Mallam Abdullahi Baba, thanked the state governor for his immense contributions to the development of the scheme and assured him of the scheme’s partnership with his government to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
